Exonumia are numismatic items such as tokens or medals. Exonumia is referred to as a non-governmental payment issued as a “good for” exchange of merchandise or service or just for fun. Some examples include counter stamped coins, elongated coins, souvenir medallions, tags, wooden nickels and casino token. It is related to numismatics, other than legal tender. Many coin collectors are exonumists as well.
